Procon Technologies offers PID temperature controllers [model PXR3] from Fuji Electric, Japan. These temperature controllers are packed with features to meet a variety of needs in the process control industry. Low-cost options include RS-485 communications, digital input [2 points], timer function, dual options, programmable alarms, 24 V AC/DC power supply and 16-step Ramp/soak program. One of the most impressive features is the large LED display, larger than the most other 1/16 and 1/32 DIN controllers. The faceplate is designed for NEMA 4X larger [IP66 equivalent], is watertight and corrosion resistant. User-friendly programming is via 3-button keypad. In addition to auto-tuning and fuzzy control, the temperature controllers come with self-tuning. They automatically retune the controllers under certain conditions, without the need to revert to auto-tuning. The temperature controllers accept temperature and process inputs, and offer two control outputs and two programmable alarms. Remote monitoring of up 31 controllers at a time is possible with RS-485 option that uses industry standard MODBUS protocol.
