Reverse flow of emergency power is also monitored by these relays. The direction of the current flow is indicated by these relays. It calculates the power as V x I [reverse current] x cos ?.The measurement of reverse power is done by considering 5 A as the maximum reverse current for 100 per cent reverse power. The relays can be preset from 2 per cent to 20 per cent reverse power. The relay trips when the current from the generator becomes reversed and exceeds the setting.
