Altos Electronics has developed a portable, shock-/vibration-proof LED-based emergency light. As the LEDs consume little power, this light can operate for four hours continuously [or 20 hours in spotlight mode] once charged. It has in-built charger and battery, and can be directly plugged in the mains socket for charging.
