Product Profile of Earth Leakage Relay
Veritek Engineering Pvt. Ltd. offers earth leakage relays model VIPS 98P. This leakage relay is used for the continuous surveillance of the earth leakage current which causes generation of heat and progressive failure of insulation when the current value moves outside from the desired zone. The relay energises to give an alarm or trip a circuit. To sense the leakage current the unit employs a CBCT [Cone Balance Transformer]. In a healthy system, the vector sum of the currents flowing in the three phases in zero. But in the case of an earth fault, the vector sum is not zero and a resultant current begins to flow which is converted into an analog voltage signal. And this signal is compared with a preset reference value.
