Sundaram Clayton offers Anti-lock Braking System for commercial vehicles. The Anti-lock Braking System, which is said to have been directed as compulsory on commercial vehicles transporting unsafe goods, will be ultimately made compulsory on all commercial vehicles. Anti-lock Braking System averts vehicle skidding, tractor-trailer jackknifing, decreases stopping distance, enhances stability and steer-ability as well as boosting the life of tyres, brakes and suspension. Also termed as ABS system, the Anti-lock Braking System from Sundaram Clayton is pneumatic in nature and its hardware specifications include: a pole wheel fixed on the wheel hub; sensor, which is attached on the brake carrier and produces a sinusoidal voltage proportional to wheel speed and transmits to ECU; ECU and a modulator valve, which is positioned near the brake actuator in the service line and handles braking pressure during ABS operation.
